Natasha's Law

Natasha's Law comes into effect on 01 October 2021 and I am doing my bit as a food producer by providing full information on any pre-packed products sold directly on my stall. 

The change in the law is the result of a UK-wide consultation which followed the tragic death of teenager Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, as a result of an allergic reaction to a baguette she had eaten which did not display allergen information on the packaging.

I have always strived to provide good allergen and dietary information on signage on my stall and I also have a snapshot list of allergens in my most regular products which can be found here.

As I make all my products myself, please do not hesitate to ask me about any of the ingredients,  methods or hygiene practices used to create my bakes.  You can also find out a bit more on my Allergen Information page.

The following information tells you the name of the product, the descriptive name of the product, the key allergens contained in the product and a full igredients list including the allergens highlighted in bold.

It is necessary for me to bring to your attention the disclamer below as I am not a factory, but a home kitchen.

HOMEMADE VICTORIA SPONGE WITH JAM FILLING

Traditional Victoria Sponge with fruit Jam filling (usually Strawberry or Raspberry - please ask for today's flavour) with a sprinkling of icing sugar.

INGREDIENTS

ALLERGENS:  Wheat, Milk, Eggs

Self Raising Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin, Raising Agents:  Sodium Carbonate, Calcium Phosphate), Sugar, Free Range Eggs, Baking Spread (Vegetable oils in varying proportions (rapeseed, palm, sunflower), water, salt, Buttermilk (Milk), emulsifier (mono and diglycerides of fatty acids), acid (citric acid), vitamin A and D, colour (carotenes), flavourings, Icing Sugar (Icing Sugar, Anti-Caking Agent:  Calcium Phosphates), Strawberry or Raspberry Jam (Sugar, Strawberries or Raspberries, Citric Acid, Pectins), Sunflower Oil Spray (Sunflower Oil, Water, Rapeseed Oil, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate)

 

HOMEMADE FRUIT SCONES WITH SULTANAS

Sweet fruit scones filled with vine fruits (sultanas) with a sprinkling of icing sugar.

INGREDIENTS

ALLERGENS:  Wheat, Milk

Self Raising Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin, Raising Agents:  Sodium Carbonate, Calcium Phosphate), Butter (Milk), Sugar, Icing Sugar (Icing Sugar, Anti-Caking Agent:  Calcium Phosphates)

 

HOMEMADE OAT & RAISIN COOKIES

Cookies made with oats and raisins, but without eggs or dairy.

INGREDIENTS

ALLERGENS:  Wheat, Oats

HOMEMADE GOATS CHEESE & RED ONION QUICHE

Individual homemade shortcrust pastry cases filled with mild goats cheese and caramalised red onions baked in a savoury custard.

Zesty lemon cake with whole blueberries.  Made without eggs or dairy.

Rich all butter pastry filled with light almond frangipane and topped with flaked almonds.
